1. Guthega to Charlotte Pass

This picturesque walk from Charlotte Pass to Guthega offers a mix of challenging climbs and serene descents through alpine landscapes. The trail passes through snow gum woodlands and crosses mountain streams, providing stunning vistas of
the surrounding peaks.
Distance: 9 km
Highlights: Views of the Snowy River, snow gum forests, and the peaceful ambiance of Guthega.

Option to walk from the lodge. This is a stunning walk over the mountain via Blue Cow and adds 5km to the day. You can also organise car shuttles or transport options. We often leave a locked bike at Charlotte Pass for one member of the group to ride back to the lodge to retrieve the car.

2.  Main Range Walk

A challenging yet rewarding loop, the Main Range Walk takes hikers through some of the most stunning alpine landscapes in the Snowy Mountains. This trail includes sections of the highest peaks in mainland Australia, providing panoramic views and unforgettable experiences.
Distance: 22 km
Highlights: Mount Kosciuszko, glacial lakes, and sweeping alpine vistas.

Park at Charlotte Pass as walk starts and finishes at the same place.

2A. Charlotte Pass to Blue Lake Lookout (Return)

2B. Charlotte Pass to Mount Kosciuszko (Return)

Distance: 18.6 km (return)

3. Charlotte Pass to Perisher Valley

Highlights: Sweeping views of the alpine landscape, snow gum forests, and tranquil surroundings.

Easy to do a car shuffle, organise transport or ride up on the bike to retrieve car.  Trail ends a Kooloora Lodge.

 

4. Perisher Valley to Bullocks Flat

This scenic stretch connects Perisher Valley to Bullocks Flat, offering a mix of open plains and forested paths. It’s a moderately challenging walk, perfect for those looking to explore more of the Snowy Mountains’ diverse terrain.
Distance: 12 km
Highlights: Serene forests, alpine streams, and the tranquil beauty of Bullocks Flat.

Easy to organise transport or split the group in 2. One group starts at Kooloora Lodge and one group parks at Bullocks Flat and takes on the uphill challenge. Meet in the middle to swap car keys.
